We are pleased to announce the availability of several new tools for enhanced course development.

We have collected these tutorials from each application's official website.

Real Player. You can download the free version from Real.com.
Macromedia Flash Player. You can download the free version from Macromedia.com.
Adobe Reader (PDF). You can download Adobe Reader from Adobe.com.

Respondus & Respondus LockDown Browser:

UNO has obtained a campus-wide license for Respondus LockDown Browser. Respondus LockDown Browser™ is a customized browser that increases the security of test delivery in Blackboard. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser to access an exam, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Once an assessment is started, students are locked into it until it’s submitted for grading. For a complete list of features, visit the Respondus web site at http://www.respondus.com.

Impatica for PowerPoint / Blackboard:

Impatica for PowerPoint makes it easy to add narrated PowerPoint presentations to your Blackboard Course. UNO has acquired a campus-wide license for Impatica.

Now you can deliver fully narrated and animated PowerPoint presentations to essentially any Internet device without plug-ins and even at normal modem speeds.

Impatica for PowerPoint simply converts the PowerPoint file into a compressed format that is optimized for streaming over the Internet. The Impatica file is typically 95% smaller than the PowerPoint HTML files.

Impatica for PowerPoint supports most of the features of PowerPoint, including text, graphics, transitions, animation effects and, of course, narration. See our User's Guide for additional details.
